ride report

Dave, I am working on a bike made entirely of eco-friendly cow paddies, it smells bad, but feed it some hay and it will go for miles.

Our 56 mile ride consisted of Dave "Contrador" Oachs, Jeff "Downhill Cowabunga" Colbeth, Andrea "the Squeakmeister" P.O. Smith, and Bob "the Boomer" Barabe.
The group went south and east of Hudson taking in some real good climbing with the pace at 20+ miles per hour due to the light SE winds. The overall average was around 17 mph.
Jeff led the team up the Coulee Road at category 10 hill letting our bodies slowly warmup. The route next took on Townsvalley Road with Dave and Bob leading the way to the top. On the twisting downhill Jeff took off and never touched his brake levers once with speeds of close to peeling the skin right off of his nose.
After doing the loop directly west of River Falls the mini peloton went onto the famous Apple Valley Trail, a 3 mile climb that sucks the energy out of the quads like nothing else. Bob elected to be a domestict' by pushing the pace for about one third of the way up before Dave and Jeff took over and dueled the rest of the way up. Andrea gave it her all and finished the way to the top in a flurry.
Little did Jeff and company know what was in store for them next. Bob brought them to a road that went pretty much straight up, which made Jeff start making strange sounds like, "oh boy", and "not this one!" It was a good push up this hill by the three guys and it was pretty much an even finish at the top. With each climb Andrea would always pushed the pace once she joined the boys, which made for a good ride. The last major climb found us doing the 'world famous' Cliffton Hollows Hill from the southside to the north. Jeff took off right away and yelled out something like "cowabunga". He had a big lead on the rest of the peloton, like instantly. Dave, Andrea, and Bob followed down with speeds of 47 mph being the norm. On the northside Dave caught Jeff and Bob followed right after. Dave was like a man possessed as he stood off of his saddle for the entire duration of the climb. Bob and Jeff battled it out for the bragging rights to second place. Jeff caught Bob near the top and went on to beat him by a two bicycle lengths. Andrea was a real gamer as she gave this last big climb her best effort of the evening. With most of our liquids gone it was decided to stop off at the nearby golf course and get some water. The rest of the ride was uneventful, with the exception being the ride up to the Townsvalley Ridge. Bob challenged the group to do it in the big ring. Dave took the honors with Jeff, Bob, and Andrea following just behind in the race up to the summit. Thaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttttssssssssss all folks!!!!!!!!
